Call for Abstracts
Help shape the CIM CONNECT 2027 Technical Program by sharing a case study, operational insight, technical innovation or industry perspective.
Under the theme Intelligence in Operations, CIM CONNECT 2027 is bringing together leaders from exploration mining to metallurgy to explore how optimization and advanced technologies are transforming decision-making, productivity and performance across the chain sector.
Who Should Apply & How
Share your expertise, showcase results, and advance mining practice on a global stage.
Submissions must not exceed 500 words.
Who should submit?
We welcome submissions from:
- Mine operators and producers
- Technical professionals, engineers and project leaders
- Academics and researchers collaborating with industry
- Technology and service providers, ideally presenting in collaboration with mine operators or clients
We especially value content that:
- Present case studies, project outcomes and lessons learned
- Demonstrate real-world applications
- Highlight innovative practices, technologies or methods
- Explore collaborative approaches to industry challenges
- Provide useful insights related to safety, efficiency, sustainability and operational performance
Oral Presentation (20 min + 5 min Q&A)
Format: 20-minute presentation followed by five minutes for question
Oral presentations are well suited to:
- Case studies and project results
- Technical innovations addressing mine-site challenges
- Operational improvements and implementation experiences
- Collaborative operator–supplier initiatives
- Research with clear relevance to industry
Generic overviews, sales pitches, product demonstrations and promotional presentations will not be considered.
Panel Session Proposal (75 min)
Panel organizers are responsible for:
- Securing three to five panelists
- Including at least one mine operator, whenever possible
- Confirming a moderator
- Submitting a session description
- Providing a list of invited or confirmed participants
TECHNICAL PROGRAM TOPICS
Selection Criteria
Space in the program is limited (~30% by invitation, ~70% from general submissions).
Submissions must:
Fit within one of the conference technical topics
Be non-commercial (no sales pitches or product demos)
Preferential consideration will be given to presentations that include a mine operator or a client representative when submitted by suppliers
For panels, preferences to submissions which include at least one confirmed mine operator

If your submission is accepted, you must be available to present on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The technical program runs until 16:45 on Wednesday and is fully scheduled across all three conference days. Requests to present on a particular day cannot be guaranteed. Withdrawing because of a preferred presentation day may affect the consideration of future submissions from the same author(s).
- All technical program participants—including presenters, speakers, panel organizers, panelists and moderators—must register for CIM CONNECT 2027 and pay the registration fee applicable to their category.
Participants who do not register by the established deadline may be removed from the program.
