Abstract:
An introductory workshop designed for professionals wishing to become familiar with how AI is revolutionizing the modern mining landscape. We will discuss how LLMs (such as ChatGPT) can be used as a personal assistant to optimize your everyday workflows. We will share LLM guidelines covering topics such as data security, prompt engineering, and managing risks associated with LLM hallucinations. The workshop will also include an overview of advanced machine learning methods, including case studies that have been applied to exploration, mine to mill optimization, mine planning, water and materials management, and more!

To provide participants with hands on examples of employing machine learning techniques across a mine project life cycle.
